2. Utilize CGRP therapies to prevent migraine in appropriate patients, based on mechanisms of action, efficacy data, patient preferences, and tolerability.

COURSE SUMMARY

Recent advances in the understanding and treatment of migraine offer the opportunity to individualize the care of patients with this disorder. Multiple new treatment options are available, which marks a new era in migraine management. A number of anti-calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) monoclonal antibodies have been approved for migraine prevention, small molecule CGRP receptor antagonists (gepants) have been approved for acute care and prevention, and a 5-hydroxytryptamine-1F (5-HT1F) receptor agonist (ditan) has been approved for acute care treatment. This course will address diagnosis, treatment, and clinician-patient communication strategies to optimize patient care.
